Paralectotypes: BMNH 1895.5.27.158-159 [from Jordan] (2), CAS=SU 2688 (12, now 8 plus lectotype), USNM 47494 (1), ZMB 14065 [ex CAS-SU 2688] (3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:67 [ref. 12291], Paepke & Seegers 1986:177 [ref. 19981]. Lectotype established (as figured specimen) in caption to Pl. 124, p. 3260 in Jordan & Evermann 1900 [ref. 2446] if figured specimen is identifiable. •Valid as Atherinella evermanni (Jordan & Culver 1895) -- (Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:193 [ref. 24550], Dyer 2000:104 [ref. 26677]). •Synonym of Atherinella crystallina (Jordan & Culver 1895) -- (Chernoff 1986:177 [ref. 5848], Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:516 [ref. 27061], Miller 2006:189 [ref. 28615]). Current status: Synonym of Atherinella crystallina (Jordan & Culver 1895). Atherinopsidae: Menidiinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish. | ||
