Current status: Valid as Opistognathus evermanni (Jordan & Snyder 1902). Opistognathidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, northwestern Pacific: Bay of Bengal (India); Vietnam, Philippines to southern Sea of Japan (Korea, Japan). Habitat: marine.
