Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:223 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Ancistrus megalostomus Pearson 1924 -- (Isbrücker 1980:71 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:437 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:25 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:12 [ref. 27178], Fisch-Muller in Reis et al. 2003:377 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:223 [ref. 29155], Sarmiento et al. 2014:161, 191 [ref. 35004], de Oliveira et al. 2015:81 [ref. 33869], Provenzano & Barriga-Salazar 2018:235 [ref. 36344] in ? Chaetostoma, Bifi et al. 2019:8 [ref. 36821]). Current status: Valid as Ancistrus megalostomus Pearson 1924. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Beni River basin in Madeira River drainage, Bolivia. Habitat: freshwater.
