Holotype (unique): CAS-SU 52137 [ex MNRJ 6800, V.236]. •Valid as Calamus mu Randall & Caldwell 1966 -- (Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:85 [ref. 27192], Parenti 2019:75 [ref. 36892], Carvalho-Filho 2023:171 [ref. 40480]). Current status: Valid as Calamus mu Randall & Caldwell 1966. Sparidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Bahia south to São Paulo (Brazil). Habitat: marine.
