sciistius, Leuciscus Abbott [J. F.] 1901:487, Fig. [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 23 (no. 1221); ref. 2] Pei-ho River, Tien-Tsin, China. Holotype: USNM 49548 [ex CAS-SU 6301]. Paratypes: CAS-SU 6302 (2). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:33 [ref. 12291]. Description states one paratype (mistakenly reported as 3202) was sent to USNM (now USNM 49548); specimen sent apparently was the holotype, formerly SU 6301. •Synonym of Sarcocheilichthys nigripinnis (Günther 1873) -- (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1967:294 [ref. 20624], Lu et al. 1977:474 [ref. 2850], Yue in Chen et al. 1998:277 [ref. 23878]). •Valid as Sarcocheilichthys sciistius (Abbott 1901) -- (Li et al. 2022:345 [ref. 39293], Dyldin et al. 2023:[24] [ref. 40328]). Current status: Valid as Sarcocheilichthys sciistius (Abbott 1901). Cyprinidae. Distribution: East Asia: Amur River, Huaihe River, Yellow River and Haihe River basins (China, Mongolia, Russia and Korea). Habitat: freshwater.
