Holotype: CAS-SU 17589. Paratypes: CAS-SU 17590 (1). •Valid as Apterichtus gymnocelus (Böhlke 1953) -- (McCosker 1977:66 [ref. 6836]). •Synonym of Apterichtus equatorialis (Myers & Wade 1941) -- (McCosker & Hibino 2015:60 [ref. 33725]). Current status: Synonym of Apterichtus equatorialis (Myers & Wade 1941). Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Habitat: marine.
