Paratypes: CAS 78888 [ex IU 15041] (12 of 13). Additional original material: CAS 78889 [IU 15042] (2), CM 3868 (2), CAS 71033 [ex IU 13791] (4). Also appeared at same time in Eigenmann 1922:164 [ref. 12408] as Pirrhulina lugubris. •Valid as Pyrrhulina lugubris Eigenmann 1922 -- (Taphorn 1992:472 [ref. 23654], Weitzman & Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:248 [ref. 27061], Zarske 2011:21 [ref. 30374], Netto-Ferreira & Marinho 2013:373 [ref. 32716], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:44 [ref. 35633], Urbano-Bonilla et al. 2018:86 [ref. 35773], Vieira & Netto-Ferreira 2019:7 [ref. 36867], Cortés Hernández et al. 2023:456 [ref. 40760], Netto-Ferreira 2024:391 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Pyrrhulina lugubris Eigenmann 1922. Lebiasinidae: Pyrrhulininae. Distribution: South America: Meta River basin and ? Venezuelan llanos (Colombia and ? Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
