H.] 1896:426, Pl. 28 (upper) [United States Commission of Fish and Fisheries, Report of the Commissioner v. 19 (for 1893) (art. 6); ref. 1628] Overall localities -- North and south of Aleutian Islands and in Bristol Bay, Alaska, U.S.A., depth 7.25-42 fathoms. Lectotype: ? CAS-SU 2422. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1900.7.11.10 (1); MCZ 28355, 28356 (1); CAS-SU 2418-19 (6, 5), 2421 (5), 2423-24 (2, 3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:132 [ref. 12291]. Lectotype established (as figured specimen from Albatross sta. 3220) in caption to Pl. 288, p. 3291 in Jordan & Evermann 1900 [ref. 2446] if figured specimen is identifiable; Pietsch 1994:375, caption to fig. 17 regarded a male from SU 2422 as probably the figured specimen. •Valid as Triglops beani Gilbert 1896 -- (Watanabe 1960:16 [ref. 11959]). •Synonym of Triglops pingelii Reinhardt 1837 -- (Neelov 1973:601 [ref. 7219], Lindberg & Krasyukova 1987:174 [ref. 15964], Pietsch 1994:374 [ref. 21189], Sheiko & Fedorov 2000:29 [ref. 25650], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:428 [ref. 25968], Parin et al. 2002:S88 [ref. 28300], Parin et al. 2014:277 [ref. 33547], Mecklenburg et al. 2016:91 [ref. 34440]). Current status: Synonym of Triglops pingelii Reinhardt 1837. Cottidae: Triglopinae. Habitat: marine.
