Holotype: CAS 20223. Paratypes: (17) CAS 20224 (9), UMMZ 144344 (8), USNM 232931 (1). Additional material: CUMV 3272. Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:4 [ref. 19022]. •Valid as Acnodon normani Gosline 1951 -- (Géry 1972:203 [ref. 1594], Jégu & Santos 1990:189 [ref. 20145], Jégu & Santos 2002:53 [ref. 26050], Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:183 [ref. 27061], Ota et al. 2024:404 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Acnodon normani Gosline 1951. Serrasalmidae: Myleinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon, Xingu and Tocantins River basins, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
