Paratypes: FMNH 46909 (2), CAS-SU 30975 (4, mixed with holotype). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:64 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:59 [ref. 12367]. •Status uncertain -- (Thomson 1997:545 [ref. 23428] but types not examined). •Questionable a synonym of Mugil broussonnetii Valenciennes 1836 -- (Harrison & Senou 1999:2095 [ref. 24780]). •Species inquirenda in Family Mugilidae -- (Kottelat 2013:275 [ref. 32989]).
