Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Gulf of Aden, Persian Gulf, Seychelles, Madagascar and Mascarenes (La RĂ©union, Mauritius, Rodrigues) east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Pitcairn Group, north to southern Korea, southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands, south to Western Australia, New Caledonia and Lord Howe Island. Saint Helena population probably based on a distinct species. Habitat: marine.
