Neotype designated by Bath 1992:296 [ref. 20223]. •Valid as Praealticus oortii (Bleeker 1851) -- (Bath 1992:296 [ref. 20223], Springer 2001:3546 [ref. 26290], Allen & Adrim 2003:55 [ref. 26830], Patzner et al. 2009:460 [ref. 30396], Allen & Erdmann 2012:831 [ref. 31980]). Current status: Valid as Praealticus oortii (Bleeker 1851). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Andaman Sea and Indonesia. Habitat: marine.
