Holotype (unique): RMNH 4454. Original genus should have been Petroscirtes. •Valid as Omobranchus zebra (Bleeker 1868) -- (Springer 1972:15 [ref. 4178], Springer & Gomon 1975:74 [ref. 6083], Smith-Vaniz 1976:150 [ref. 4144], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:914 [ref. 20764], Kottelat et al. 1993:130 [ref. 23448], Springer in Randall & Lim 2000:633 [ref. 25122], Springer 2001:3545 [ref. 26290], Patzner et al. 2009:458 [ref. 30396], Kottelat 2013:384 [ref. 32989], Chakraborty et al. 2020:24 [ref. 38062], Taki et al. 2021:417 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Omobranchus zebra (Bleeker 1868). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Sundarbans (India) east to Vietnam and the Philippines. Habitat: brackish, marine.
