G.] 1976:202, Fig. 1 [Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington v. 89 (no. 13); ref. 4179] N'Gouni Reef, Grand Comore Island, about 0.5 kilometer north of Iconi, in surge channel at far end of small cove, Comoro Islands, western Indian Ocean, depth to 5 meters. Holotype: CAS 33598. Paratypes: ANSP 134000 [ex CAS 33602] (20); CAS 33607 (1), 34623 (106); USNM 205453 (1), 214974 (5, c&s), 214975 (3). Current status: Valid as Cirrisalarias bunares Springer 1976. Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Comoros and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius); Sri Lanka; Christmas Island (Australia) east to Philippines, Fiji and Tonga, north to southern Japan, south to Solomon Islands. Habitat: marine.
