Current status: Valid as Hemibrycon surinamensis Géry 1962. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: coastal drainages of French Guiana and Suriname, and from lower ríos Tapajós, Tocantins and Xingu basins, Pará, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
