transcriptus, Julidochromis Matthes [H.] 1958:85 [Folia Scientifica Africae Centralis v. 4 (no. 4); ref. 40040] Extreme north of Lake Tanganyika. Holotype: MRAC 125141. Paratypes: MRAC 125142-45 (4), 125146-49 (4); Matthes coll. (? now 10). Extended description and figure in Matthes 1959:126 [ref. 12006]. •Valid as Julidochromis transcriptus Matthes 1958 [often seen as 1959] -- (Maréchal & Poll 1991:205 [ref. 20946], Burgess 2014:6 [ref. 33600], Konings 2015:166 [ref. 34660], Konings 2019:174 [ref. 36983]). Current status: Valid as Julidochromis transcriptus Matthes 1958. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Tanganyika. Habitat: freshwater.
