Type catalog: Henn 1928:70 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:22 [ref. 12367]. •Valid as Charax rupununi Eigenmann 1912 -- (Lucena 1987:50 [ref. 17724], Lucena 1989:104 [ref. 12852], Lucena & Menezes in Reis et al. 2003:201 [ref. 27061], Menezes & de Lucena 2014 221 [ref. 33369]). Current status: Valid as Charax rupununi Eigenmann 1912. Characidae: Characinae. Distribution: Jacaré Lake, Essequibo and Trombetas River basins: Brazil and Guyana. Habitat: freshwater.
