Type catalog: Monkolprasit 1969:13 [ref. 25088], Vilasri et al. 2018:53 [ref. 36451]. •Mention in Barbus -- (Kottelat 1984:805 [ref. 11440]). •Also as Poropuntius wetmorei (Smith 1931) -- (Doi 1997:10 [ref. 22832]). •Valid as Hypsibarbus wetmorei (Smith 1931) -- (Rainboth 1996:122 [ref. 22681], Rainboth 1996:97 [ref. 22772], Doi 1997:6 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 2001:28 [ref. 25482] as cf. wetmorei, Kottelat 2001:57 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2013:113 [ref. 32989], Vilasri et al. 2018:53 [ref. 36451], Taki et al. 2021:119 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Hypsibarbus wetmorei (Smith 1931). Cyprinidae: Cyprininae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malay Peninsula, Mae Klong, Chao Phraya and Mekong River basins, Thailand, Laos and northern Cambodia. Habitat: freshwater.
