[probably southwestern Utah, U.S.A.]. Syntypes: ANSP 19851-52 (2), BMNH 1883.12.14.239 [ex. USNM 15576] (1); MCZ 18817 (2), CAS-SU 2003 (1), USNM 15576 (3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:36 [ref. 12291], Böhlke 1984:69 [ref. 13621], Gilbert 1998:43 [ref. 23395]. On p. 2 of separate. Miller & Hubbs 1960:34 [ref. 11934] discuss types and type locality problems. Current status: Valid as Plagopterus argentissimus Cope 1874. Leuciscidae: Plagopterinae. Distribution: Western North America: Middle and lower Colorado River system (southwestern U.S.A. and northwestern Mexico). Habitat: freshwater.
