Holotype (unique): BMNH 1921.9.6.200. •Valid as Tyrannochromis macrostoma (Regan 1922) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:97 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:534 [ref. 20944], Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:309 [ref. 28117], Konings 2016:263 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Tyrannochromis macrostoma (Regan 1922). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
