Authorship according to Fricke 2008:44 [ref. 30182]. Current status: Valid as Chaetodon mesoleucos Forsskål 1775. Chaetodontidae: Chaetodontinae. Distribution: Red Sea; northwestern Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden. Habitat: marine.
