Current status: Valid as Pomacanthus chrysurus (Cuvier 1831). Pomacanthidae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa to Seychelles, Aldabra (Seychelles), Comoros and Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
