Current status: Valid as Spintherobolus papilliferus Eigenmann 1911. Characidae: Spintherobolinae. Distribution: South America: headwaters of Rio Tietê basin and Rio Ribeira de Iguape (São Paulo, Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
