Holotype: WAM P.25427-010. Paratypes: AMS I.26254-001 [ex WAM P.25427-010] (1). Type catalog: Hutchins & Smith 1991:41 [ref. 19335], Moore et al. 2008:48 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Kimberleyeleotris notata Hoese & Allen 1987 -- (Unmack 2001:1064 [ref. 25797], Hutchins 2001:44 [ref. 25847], Allen et al. 2002:303 [ref. 25930], Hoese 2006:1604 [ref. 28998], Morgan et al. 2011:19 [ref. 31262], Parenti 2021:49 [ref. 38603]). •Valid as Hypseleotris notata (Hoese & Allen 1987) -- (Thacker et al. 2022:3 [ref. 39170], Shelley et al. 2023:354 [ref. 40279], Unmack 2023:2073 [ref. 40718]). Current status: Valid as Hypseleotris notata (Hoese & Allen 1987). Eleotridae: Eleotrinae. Distribution: Australia: Drysdale River drainage, northern Kimberley Plateau (Western Australia) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
