Current status: Valid as Leiarius marmoratus (Gill 1870). Pimelodidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon, Essequibo and Orinoco River basins (Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
