Paratypes: (20) apparently at SRS/ZSI. •Valid as Puntius mudumalaiensis Menon & Rema Devi 1992 -- (Manimekalan 1998:436 [ref. 24989], Rema Devi & Raghunathan 1999:153 [ref. 24759], Menon 1999:97 [ref. 24904], Pethiyagoda et al. 2012:73 [ref. 32071]., Plamoottil & Abraham 2014:1096 [ref. 33150], Bleher 2018:720 [ref. 36647], Plamoottil & Johnson 2020:97 [ref. 37958]). Current status: Valid as Puntius mudumalaiensis Menon & Rema Devi 1992. Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: South Asia: Mudumalai forest, Tamil Nadu (southern India). Habitat: freshwater.
