bermudensis, Holacanthus ciliaris var. Goode [G. B.] 1876:43 [Bulletin of the United States National Museum [v. 1] No. 5; ref. 1832] Key West, Florida, U.S.A. Neotype: CAS-SU 363. Original syntypes (USNM 154852 [3], Bermuda) were set aside and replaced by a neotype (SU 363; the holotype of Angelichthys isabelita Jordan & Rutter 1898), and the name bermudensis was placed on the Official List of Specific Names in Zoology (ICZN, Opinion 2003). •Hybrid between Holacanthus isabelita and Holacanthus ciliaris (Feddern 1968 [ref. 21623]). •Valid as Angelichthys bermudensis (Goode 1876) -- (Condé & Terver 1976:1 [ref. 37212]). •Valid as Holacanthus bermudensis Goode 1876 -- (Robins & Ray 1986:194 [ref. 23100], Boschung 1992:149 [ref. 23239], Smith-Vaniz et al. 1999:276 [ref. 25013], Thomson et al. 2000:148 [ref. 25640], Schmitter-Soto et al. 2000:163 [ref. 27754], Burgess 2003:1679 [ref. 27101], Nelson et al. 2004:150 [ref. 27807], McEachran & Fechhelm 2005:474 [ref. 28815], Page et al. 2013:154 [ref. 32708], Robertson et al. 2016:146 [ref. 34961], Martínez-Servín et al. 2023:116 [ref. 40726]). Current status: Valid as Holacanthus bermudensis Goode 1876. Pomacanthidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Habitat: marine.
