Paralectotypes: BMNH 1868.1.15.5-6 (2), 1868.9.16.12 and 13 (1, 1 [both = M. knappi]), 1868.6.15.5-6 (1, 1 [both = M. affinis]), uncat. (1 [= M. affinis]). Lectotype established by Regan 1913:396 [ref. 18513]. •Synonym of Myxine glutinosa Linnaeus 1758 -- (Lloris & Rucabado 1991:23 [ref. 22530]). •Valid as Notomyxine tridentiger (Garman 1899) -- (Pequeño 1989:5 [ref. 14125], Fernholm 1998:35 [ref. 23976], Knapp et al. 2011:405 [ref. 37507], Mabragaña et al. 2011:table S2 [ref. 31800]). Current status: Valid as Notomyxine tridentiger (Garman 1899). Myxinidae: Myxininae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific, southwestern Atlantic: Chile and Argentina. Habitat: marine.
