neptunus, Hemigrammus Zarske [A.] & Géry [J.] 2002:25, Figs. 3-4 [Zoologische Abhandlungen; Staatliches Museum für Tierkunde in Dresden No. 52; ref. 26553] Río Manuripi, not far from its junction with Río Tahuamanu, between Alméndrillo, 11°11'687"S, 67°34'269"W, and Bolima, 11°16'890"S, 67°36'246"W, Dep. Pando, Bolivia. Holotype: MTD F 25536. Paratypes: CIRA-UTB 972 a-e (5); MTD F 25537-25546 (10); Géry private coll. 1047:1-5 (5); NMW 94641-44 (4). •Valid as Hemigrammus neptunus Zarske & Géry 2002 -- (Lima & Oyakawa in Reis et al. 2003:133 [ref. 27061], Zarske et al. 2006:24 [ref. 28749], Sarmiento et al. 2014:46, 184 [ref. 35004], Lima et al. 2016:131 [ref. 34590], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:18 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Hemigrammus neptunus Zarske & Géry 2002. Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Bolivia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
