Current status: Valid as Elassoma gilberti Snelson, Krabbenhoft & Quattro 2009. Elassomatidae. Distribution: Streams in southwestern Georgia and the northwestern and north-central Florida, U.S.A., draining into the Gulf of Mexico. Habitat: freshwater.
