P.] 2010:22, Figs. 1-3 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 8 (no. 1); ref. 30751] Riacho Três Morros around bridge on road between Piatã and Núbia, tributary of rio de Contas, 13°04'43"S, 41°51'44"W, Município de Piatã, Bahia, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 104538. Paratypes: DZSJRP 11933 (20, 3 c&s); MZUSP 104539 (20); UFBA 4298 (126, 3 c&s), 4299 (57) Type catalog: Andrade et al. 2017:439 [ref. 35588]. •Valid as Hasemania piatan Zanata & Serra 2010 -- (Bertaco & Carvalho 2010:30 [ref. 30752], Serra & Langeani 2015:485 [ref. 33944], Silva et al. 2020:5 [ref. 37809]). Current status: Valid as Hasemania piatan Zanata & Serra 2010. Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: Rio de Contas drainage (Bahia, Brazil) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
