Based on Torpedo fairchildi of McCulloch 1919:171, Pl. 25 [ref. 21655]. •Valid as Torpedo macneilli (Whitley 1932) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:61 [ref. 12442], Gomon et al. 1994:156 [ref. 22532], Last & Stevens 1994:370 [ref. 23873], Compagno & Last 1999:1451 [ref. 24637], Compagno 1999:487 [ref. 25589], Hutchins 2001:15 [ref. 25847], Carvalho et al. 2002:31 [ref. 26091], Paxton et al. 2006:165 [ref. 28995], Gomon 2008:101 [ref. 30616]). •Valid as Tetronarce macneilli (Whitley 1932) -- (Ebert et al. 2015:245 [ref. 33710] with question, Weigmann 2016:78 [ref. 34211]). •Synonym of Tetronarce nobiliana (Bonaparte 1835) -- (Carvalho et al. 2016:189 [ref. 34999]). Current status: Synonym of Tetronarce nobiliana (Bonaparte 1835). Torpedinidae. Distribution: Australia or Indo-West Pacific [if valid]. Habitat: marine.
