Described as a new species and subspecies. •Valid as Syngnathus euchrous Fritzsche 1980 -- (Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:130 [ref. 9277], Dawson 1985:185 [ref. 6541], Nelson et al. 2004:112 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:72 [ref. 37547], Kuiter 2009:256 [ref. 30404], Page et al. 2013:114 [ref. 32708], Hamilton et al. 2016:Supplement 3 [ref. 35615], Kells et al. 2016:124 [ref. 35888], Garcia et al. 2019:[3] 1001 [ref. 38915], Love et al. 2021:103 [ref. 39279]). •Synonym of Syngnathus californiensis Storer 1845 -- (Garcia et al. 2019:[13] 1011 [ref. 38915]). Current status: Synonym of Syngnathus californiensis Storer 1845. Syngnathidae: Syngnathinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern California (U.S.A.) south to Pacific coast of central Baja California (Mexico) (if valid). Habitat: marine.
