Description Willow (?) stem that has been cut at both ends, completely peeled of its bark, and then bent into a U-shape; Used as a form for wrapping a young Hopi girl’s hair in the traditional whorl pattern worn at the side of her head, indicating her status as being of marriageable age; Once the hair has been wrapped around the form, it is removed.
