Description | Woman's one piece wrap-around dress or wearing blanket, woven in diagonal and diamond twill techniques; Center panel is woven entirely in balanced warp and weft faced diagonal twill weave with natural brown warps and aniline-dyed (?) black wefts; Narrow end panels are both woven in diamond twill weave with indigo-dyed (?) wefts over natural brown warps; Inner borders along diamond twill end panels is marked by raised weft ridge, further outlined by appliquéd lengths of red and green yarn attached with cotton string; Bracelet consisting of 7 silver buttons linked together is sewn near one edge of dress. | |
