Description | Rectangular shawl (donor calls it an older style wide scarf in her notes) woven longer than wide in warp-faced plainweave technique; Overall color is dark brown, with multicolored stripe (purple, light and dark red, light and dark green, white) near each side; Decorative edging is done in double crochet stitch in colors of green/yellow mixed and blue/white mixed along both weft selvages; Wide dark brown panel woven in double crochet stitch is added to each end of the shawl, terminating in dark brown fringe; Pieced into the double crocheted panel on each end are 5 small round medallions, all woven in single crochet stitch in yellow and green, blue and white, or a mixture of all four colors. | |
