Description | Woman’s rectangular carrying cloth, comprising two warp-faced panels that are seamed together down the center; Each panel is woven longer than wide in a plainweave technique; Design consists of wide stripes woven in sequence of colors (light brown, medium brown, and gray) alternating with 3 decorative patterned bands, which employ supplementary warps to produce the patterned designs in colors of maroon, lavender, red, orange, pink, green, purple, black, light blue, and white; Colors and patterns are slightly different on the two panels; Flat joining stitch worked in segments of color (green, orange, lavender) to seam the panels together. | |
