Description | Dance sling consisting of a braided rope in colors of white and several shades of brown; Approx. half of the rope is woven with 16 strands in a continuous pattern of chevrons and is square in cross-section; At the end, several strands are braided and wrapped around the final centimeters of the rope and then the ends of all the strands left loose as fringe; Other half of rope is woven with 48 strands in alternating panels of concentric diamonds and solid colored parallelograms, and is also square in cross-section; Near end, an additional 16-strand finger hold loop in pink and white passes through the primary rope, and its end is decorated with a large white tassel made of white yarns that are doubled and wrapped at their bases; End of strands in primary rope are concealed within a second very large tassel of white yarns which are doubled and wrapped near their base with white yarn; Ten smaller tassels in pink, red, green, orange, maroon, and dark blue, each made of four short segments of a narrow woven fabric that are doubled and wrapped with a contrasting yarn, are spaced along the 48-strand section of rope and along part of the 16-strand section. | |
