Description | Dance sling consisting of a braided rope in colors of white, black, and brown; Approx. half of the rope is woven with 8 strands in a continuous pattern of spiral zigzags with no changes in the direction in which the strands cross; This section of rope is very thick and is round in cross-section; Near the end, the rope divides into two 4-strand sections to form a finger hole and then the strands are joined for several more cm, before one of the strands is wrapped around the others and then all the strands are left loose as short fringe; Other half of rope begins with a patterned flat tapestry-weave section in center and then becomes a 7-strand flat braided rope with a continuous pattern of chevrons; At end, the strands are wrapped with a white cotton thread and left loose as short fringe. | |
