Description | Spindle consisting of a hand carved cylindrical spindle rod carved from a length of bamboo-like wood that terminates at either end in a blunt point, and a round truncated beehive-shaped spindle whorl or wooden disk that was probably shaped on a lathe machine and decorated with 2 concentric circles on upper, flat surface and 3 concentric circles on undersides at the points with the whorl's diameter changes; Spindle rod passes through central perforation in whorl. | |
