Description | Weaving spindle consisting of cylindrical hand carved wooden shaft that tapers to blunt point at each end and passes through center of round wooden spindle, a wooden disk with flat top and bottom and flaring sides (narrow end of whorl is toward bottom) that was probably turned on a lathe machine; Undetermined quantity of spun yarn in both gray and brown) is wrapped around spindle rod and is attached to bundles of carded but unspun gray and brown alpaca fibers.
