Description |
3-dimensional carved katsina-like figure in standing position, representing no individual or any pueblo katsina, but rather a made-for-sale secular carving; Figure's body is painted white and he wears carved and painted white shirt, white embroidered kilt, and red moccasins; His unmasked face has a pronounced nose (carved separately), painted black almond-shaped eyes, and red lips; Carved and short-cropped black hair is worn in pueblo-style chongo at back; Several feathers of various sizes and types are glued to flat wooden stick which in turn is glued to right side of figure's head. |
