Materials Handspun natural and carded wool warp; Handspun natural wool weft: Angora wool inserts
Description Tufted rug or saddle throw woven wider than long and woven entirely in plain tapestry weave, with lengths of white Angora wool looped around the warps in rows spaced approximately every 2.5 cm to produce a shag surface on the front of the rug; Because gray wool was used for the warps in this rug, a subtle pattern of horizontal beaded lines appears on the reverse face, where the Angora wool has been looped through; Along one end, the warps have been cut and the ends have been paired and plied together and then tied to form short fringe; Selvage cords are white, and end cords (along one end only) are white and carded gray.
Dimensions (cm) Width = 86.5, Length = 44.0
