Description Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth, coated with a slip and highly burnished; Design band around interior rim is painted in matte black slip and consists of four contiguous and elongated triangles arranged end to end along the rim, each with a sinuous long side with an attached hooked appendage, forming a whirling motif; Center of plate is undecorated; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised in script on base.
