Description | Round basket with flat base and rounded lower sides that rise vertically; Warp and weft material is rye grass stems; Basket is woven primarily in closed plain twining, with single row of 3 strand twining in middle of base and 2 additional rows per rim, single row of exposed warps on lower sides, and several rows of exposed, crossed warps just below rim; Design band just below rim is woven of worsted wool yarn in false embroidery technique and consists of single row of alternating red and blue dots. | |
