Description | Round, jar-shaped, bottleneck basket with flat base, slightly rounded but very steep sides, high flat shoulder, and short wide neck with flaring rim; Basket is woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is cattail and/or grass stems; Primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black split devil's claw pods and include solid black circle in center of base and six rectilinear zigzags that radiate outward from the base and then rise vertically all the way to the rim; Final rim coil is woven of black devil's claw. | |
