Description | Round basket with flat base and deep, slightly flaring sides; Basket is woven entirely in close-spaced coiled technique over a bundle foundation; Warp material is split cattail stems and primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black devil's claw pods and include stylized saguaro cactus motif that is repeated seven times around sides of basket, extending from juncture of base and side to rim; Final rim coil is decorated with a diagonal overstitch of black devil's claw. | |
