Description | Mortuary urn shaped in the style of a shine, intended for secondary burial, consisting of a rectangular box with open top, carved from a single piece of coral, and raised on four pedestal feet; Rectangular lid with peaked top is carved from second large piece of coral; When fitted with its lid, the mortuary urn appears to be a small house; Urn is lacking in any decorative embellishment, other than its overall shape; NB: Lid is considerably larger than the urn itself, suggesting the two were possibly not originally associated with each other. | |
