Hair comb made from cross-section of very large-diameter bamboo pole; Overall shape is rectangular and concave-convex in cross-section corresponding to natural curve of bamboo; Distal end is carved into 13 long flat teeth that extend approx. 3/4 total length of comb and taper slightly toward distal end; Proximal end is decorated with 2 parallel bands, each engraved with continuous pattern of stacked negative diamonds against background of fine-line hachures. |
