Description | Deep round basket with flat base and vertical sides that flare slightly near the rim, woven in coiled technique over a bundle foundation; Warp material is split cattail stems and primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black devil's claw pods and consists of two parallel zigzag lines that encircle the sides of the basket; The angles in the lower zigzag band are filled in to form solid triangles, while in the upper band only the lower angles are filled in while the upper angles are truncated; Final rim coil is decorated with a diagonal overstitch of black devil's claw. | |
